About

Built for the businesses that keep neighborhoods running

TAKE A DEV started with a simple observation: the software running most local businesses is either a spreadsheet or a decade-old desktop program. We build the alternative.

Why we exist

Big-box enterprise software is priced for corporations and built for procurement departments. Meanwhile, the shop owner managing stock at 11 p.m., the pharmacist juggling expiry dates, and the restaurant manager reconciling a cash drawer get left with tools that fight them.

We build SaaS products for exactly those people. Each one is narrow on purpose: it does one operational job — inventory, pharmacy, queues, or food service — and does it well enough that staff stop thinking about the software and get back to their customers.

We're a small team of engineers and designers who visit the businesses we serve, watch how work actually happens, and ship improvements every week.

How we work

One job, done properly

We'd rather ship four sharp tools than one bloated suite. Every product exists because a real business asked for it — and stays lean because we say no a lot.

Software meets you at the counter

Our products are designed at the point of work: the pharmacy counter, the kitchen pass, the stockroom. If a feature slows staff down during rush hour, it doesn't ship.

Plain answers, fast

When you message support, you reach people who build the product. No ticket ping-pong, no canned replies, no 'have you tried turning it off and on again.'

Your data is yours

Export everything, anytime, in formats your accountant can open. We earn renewals with the product, not with lock-in.
